Vision Statement

The world of faith traditions and practices is kaleidoscopic — vibrantly colored yet interconnected within a large circle.  In Portland, many people practice a range of traditions and are mindful of hope, joy, comfort, and guidance they bring.  We also know the occasional discord and division found among these communities as well as the tendency of many in the Northwest to have no institutional faith.

 Open, interfaith awareness teaches us our common spiritual ground is richer and broader than the barriers and conflicts that separate us.  A Festival of Faith can celebrate and encourage this understanding.  In gatherings of individuals and communities of various faith traditions we expect to find ways to build relationships of appreciation and joint commitment.  We share the vision of faith mutuality in this area that is supportive, secure, and productive.
